In 1916 an enterprising young man named T.E. Milburn had an idea. He imagined providing grocers with the food, staples, feed, and hardware they could sell in their stores. A one-stop-shop if you will for the grocers in the area. And so, Harrison Grocer Company was born.

Gradually, Harrison Grocer Company expanded its product line to include candy, tobacco, pet food, paper products, drugs, health, and beauty aids. As the product line expanded, so did the service area. Soon, we were serving grocery stores in several counties in Arkansas and Missouri. It was so convenient for grocers to have one supplier for so many products that more and more turned to us to order their goods.

Just like that, business was booming. In 1952, Harrison Grocer Company acquired Pippin Wholesale Company, one of their competitors in the area. Pippin Wholesale began distributing more institutional items like bulk foods, meats, and commercial-grade janitorial supplies to businesses such as schools, hospitals, restaurants, motels, etc.

The two companies operated under the corporate name Harrison Grocer Co., Inc. Over the years, these companies evolved into two distinct businesses with different product lines and customer bases.

Corporate functions combined in 1988 and today, we operate as one company with one distribution center and fourth generation leadership.

Presently, Pippin Wholesale provides top quality, brand name products with next-day delivery to our customer base which includes motels, resorts, hospitals, schools, prisons – the list goes on and on.

Supporting our customers and community for over 100 years has been an exciting and fulfilling journey for our company, and we continue to work hard to ensure that quality products and service remain our number one goal, and the gold standard in our industry.
